Cuteness Overload: Tales of a 1 Year-Old

My goodness, this session!

  • The family: Laura and Christa and their adorable baby Elias, filled with love and giggles.
  • The venue: new-to-me Gunston Hall down in Lorton, filled with trees and paths and history - including Laura and Christa's engagement photos.
  • The light: We caught that golden evening glow!

I really enjoyed exploring a new place and spent the entire afternoon at either Mason Neck State Park or Gunston Hall, both of which I highly recommend! It was such a sweet, cute session, with Elias all smiles and already walking like a champ. With a balloon to celebrate his one-year milestone, we had fun with both family photos and some of just Elias - for as long as he would stand still (and some walking, too!)

Laura told me she chose me partly because I say I can get smiles out of everyone, and that continues to be 100% true. A session full of smiles! Both she and Christa grew up in the area and have already brought Elias along on some beach trips. They were prepared for the evening with some of Elias's favorite toys: taking top prize was his singing and dancing monkey, given to him by his great-grandmother before she passed. He lit up every time there was a song.

We went further into the grounds, finding the spot among the trees where their engagement session was and recreating some of those photos - now with a new family member! Elias loved being an airplane (who doesn't) and walking on his own. Of course, I made sure to get some of just Laura and Christa, enjoying life together as new moms.

Laura and Christa: I had a blast with you three! Thank you again for introducing me to a new place. What a lovely area, and an even lovelier family!
