From Ohio to Washington


I was so glad to connect with Lauren and meet her family in Old Town Alexandria! Her husband Chris is working in DC for a year while she and their daughters hold down the home base in Ohio. Lauren, Madison, and Emi are spending a few weeks over on the east coast to get some much needed family time. So, they wanted to get some sweet family photos together. Well, mission accomplished!


This family is full of jokes, love, and laughter. Madison (12) does softball and cheer and both she and Emi (6) brought their giggles and creativity to the table, and helped plan some cute shots (one you'll see below, a la Brady Bunch!).


First we explored Windmill Hill Park - which I did not even know had a name until a few weeks ago, whoops - and as soon as I saw where it was, all these memories of my first-ever photo session came back (hi, Nate and Mike!). It has only gotten more beautiful and filled with flowers since my last venture there, and I loved doing photos by all the shrubs and definitely the bridge there. This is a repeat spot for sure! While the girls were getting a quick break, I caught some cute sister moments before doing some lifestyle photos of the whole family resting on the water.


Next up: a specific alley in Old Town that they saw the last time they were in DC together. I always love the classic Old Town and brick historical look for photos. We did some more meandering of Old Town including some steps where Madison put her vision into action - which came out great!


Lauren, Chris, Madison, Emi: Thank you for trusting me to help you make memories while you are here! You're all so wonderful together, I just loved meeting you! Safe travels back home.
