Returning to DC for Portraits
What an adorable, fun session this was! Yasmeen, Asim, and their children traveled from Georgia to Washington DC to see family, celebrate milestones, and capture fresh family photos. They had their engagement and anniversary photos here when DC was home, so it was fitting (not to mention super cute!) that we got portraits of their growing family right here. We recreated some of their experiences from when they lived here - and thankfully there was no rain for these ones! Rayaan celebrated turning three while they were in town, and Layla (one) was taking all of DC in. This plus a wedding the night before our session, and these kids handled it all very well during a heatwave weekend. Was it also the day of the Lincoln Memorial Centennial re-dedication ceremony, plus a Navy ceremony down at the Reflecting Pool? Yes. And 100% graduation season? Whew. Serious kudos to this family for sticking it out and getting some wonderful images. We played with cars, danced to music, and got to see ducklings in the Reflecting Pool!
Hand Painting and Music
Look at that gold sleeve work on Yasmeen's beautiful dress: it was hand-painted by her friend! Love it. Showcasing other small businesses in this way was an honor - Asim's cool sunglasses are also by a friend! Rayaan was more excited by cars, Cars, and sometimes Toy Story and little dude, you've got a friend in me. Layla was more about that Encanto life, and The Family Madrigal brought a smile to her face real fast! She clapped along, too, so sweet.
Yasmeen and Asim: what a wonderful family you have! I had such a fun time getting to know you and talking all things DC!
